Reclaimed western red cedar is such a beautiful aromatic and long lasting timber, perfect for cladding   any project.  Unfortunately it has to come a great distance so we try and use it from a reclaimed source, in this case an old school in west London. It gives a wonderful contrast and colour to this habitat wall we built on the side of our freight container shelter. Great material if you can find a good supplier.

We are always looking for new ways to use waste materials.

Here we have used oak and ash from the local park to clad this outdoor classroom.

Not normally associated with coppice, these birch stems proved an interesting panel section.

We also use hazel and willow rods to provide supports and material for living sculptures and domes.

We try to design in short off-cuts of timber which are normally wasted - such as in this compost bin.

This picket fence is made from old sleepers in Jarrow, Eki and Oak.

We've used green oak as a retainer for this raised bed.
